Conscious Consumers & Environmental Activism

What is an environmental activist?

An environmental activist is someone who actively works in favor of positive environmental change. The most classic example of environmental activists often highlighted in the media are people who petition against extractive industries by doing things like living in trees so loggers can’t cut them down or petitioning for legislative action through protests and demonstrations.

Are conscious consumers environmental activists?

Conscious consumers are a bit passive in their environmental activism as they are voting with their wallet to support responsible brands rather than rallying outside unethical brands. BUT they can have just as big of an impact. Many conscious consumers will take their boycott of unethical brands a step further by signing petitions for brands they want to see change. It’s safe to say that most conscious consumers are also environmental activists in one way or another because of their passion for environmental conservation.
